Tobacco Road Tours takes you on a motorized, professionally guides tour to where Durham’s roots began & where the City has evolved today. North Carolina’s “Triangle”, with some of the United States best historical markers, culture, architecture, food and stories await you as we travel the “City of Medicine” on TRT’s Historic Durham tour.
Thanks to media marketing, modern census figures and a shared international airport Raleigh/Durham exists in the minds of many Americans as a single city in the southeastern United States. However, as native Tarheels are aware, Raleigh and Durham are two distinct communities. They lie about 25 miles apart within the rolling hills of Piedmont North Carolina. Each has a fascinating history that makes it unique and worthy of individual study.
Tour runs rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. There are 2 to 3 stops along the tour for attractions, photo opportunities, and a bathroom break. The tour will run for approximately 3 hours. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to departure time.
