Blending Gospel and Jazz, Dante Lewis Aims to Make Your Friday Memorable

It is rare to find a jazz artist who so successfully merges his love of soul and groove with such a rich spirituality—but Dante Lewis knows where his inspiration and blessings come from. So he is not shy about finding ways to share both the jazz and the gospel on his infectious and super soulful first recordings or live in concert. Enjoy an inspirational evening with Dante Lewis at Beyu Caffe on Friday, December 28th.

In a world, where most artists keep the sacred and secular separate for commercial reasons, Lewis’ boldness is refreshing. Like his idol Kirk Whalum, Dante Lewis artfully puts the breath of heaven in every note, whether he’s funking up a classic Luther hit or creating a mood with sensual, ambient original ballads. His last album charted to #28 and he is currently performing songs for his newest record, A Sweet Love Tribute to Anita Baker.

Dante has shared the stage with Boney James, Jonathan Butler, Kirk Whalum, Najee, Kenny Babyface Edmonds, Ashford and Simpson, Norman Brown, Kevin Whalum, Nick Colionne, Brian Simpson, Pieces of a Dream, Angela Winbush, Lamar Campbell and Marvin Sapp.

Ease into your post-holiday weekend with smooth jazz by Dante Lewis. This show is open to audience members of all ages. Tickets to see Lewis live are 14 dollars and may be purchased at www.beyucaffe.com.
